“I Discovered the Mantis Tiller”
“My Mantis Tiller Makes Great Garden Soil”
Here in EEC Cyprus we are having the best weather it is 18 to 20 C, thanks to mantis, the ground is very easy to get ready. This is done in November and planted with broccoli, cauliflower, onions, broad beans, spring onions spinach, and lettuce. Now I shall be planting cucumbers, aubergine, chillies and sweet capsicums. A tip, I use the tiller first then use the dethatcher the tines will bring up all the rubbish, the soil will be very fluffy.
The lawn; my wife nearly divorced me when I used the aerator and then the dethacher. Unfortunately the results were so good that she changed her mind. For the very hot weather of 40+ the grass has to be healthy to survive. I cut it aprox 6cm height; first the aerator followed by dethatcher and then cover the area with a thin layer of peat with little sand 25%. Grass must not be smothered, good fertilizer then use a garden broom to spread the peat followed with plenty of watering. (From my borehole.) The idea is to have the roots go deep down in the soil to get moisture otherwise the grass will burn.”

I write to pay your service team a compliment. I was delighted with the speedy and efficient service you have given me on my 8 year old machine. I have just worked with it this weekend and it is back in excellent shape – as new. The service team have done a great job. The product is a fine piece of practial engineering and the service team match it.”

I hesitated for a long time before buying a Mantis and even then, I confirmed that it was conditional on the ‘risk free trial’ offer. We have a large garden developed from scratch over thirty years on heavy clay soil and I questioned whether a light-weight machine such as a Mantis would be of any use.
The garden which includes a reclaimed former railway cutting consists of raised vegetable boxes, lawns, shrubs and packed perennial beds, all very labour intensive and quite a burden as we grow older. However, in the short time I have had the Mantis it has proved a valuable addition to our increasingly mechanised tool shed. It is brilliant at quickly incorporating grit and composts into our heavy soil in tight areas of the perennial beds and weeding between established plants. In addition, it can easily be lifted into the raised vegetable boxes where it rapidly produces a fine tilth.
Although we still have the reassurance of the “risk free trial” guarantee I suspect that my Mantis is here to stay. I attach several photographs of our garden to illustrate the type of work we have to tackle.”

Just a note to say how delighted I am with the Mantis that you supplied. Early in January I received a leaflet in the post from you. I must admit that for a couple of days it hovered between the worktop and the refuse bin. I then decided that I would open it just to see what was on offer. The machine appeared small and light and with a little engine. My immediate thoughts were ”underpowered and probably for the really small plot”. I studied the literature carefully, excellent testimonials from clients, money back guarantee even after 12 months use and plenty of attachments. The decision was made to give it a go and I eagerly awaited its arrival. In what seemed to be no time at all it arrived.
Funnily enough the delivery coincided with a dry spell that we were having. I have a patio of approx. 15 metres by three metres, six vegetable plots of 3 metres x 3 metres and an open area of approx. 10 metres x 6 metres that I intend to convert into a rose and shrub garden. I tried the crevice cleaner on the patio between each paving slab (some 160 in total). It took less than 1 hour to do a job that normally takes most of the day!! I dug over all six vegetable plots in less time than it take to dig over one plot by hand, plus I had time to plant my broad beans (certainly the earliest planting that I have achieved).
With confidence I now decided to tackle the rose garden, a task I have been avoiding for years. The Mantis took it in its stride with no problems at all. Over all the machine easily exceeds all expectation with plenty of power to spare and ease of use to go with it. The video and instructions were excellent. The machine started with the first pull of the cord and is proving to be one of my best purchases for the garden. I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending the Mantis to anyone with a garden.
Can you please keep me updated with information on additional accessories as they become available. We have already made the decision to purchase further items from the list that you provided as and when necessary. My wife says they would make ideal Christmas and birthday presents for me. Again thank you, I only wish I had seen it advertised years earlier.!”

I continue to enjoy the results of the tiller, having in the past had a very large one that was almost uncontrollable, this is a dream come true…”

I am very pleased with the machine as it is very capable. I used the lawn dethatcher and was amazed at the rubbish it clawed out. Now I don’t have to dig a runner bean trench, I simply lay the compost where the beans are going and use the cultivator to dig it in, brilliant, done in no time at all. My brother is impressed as he has a large cultivator which he has to walk behind treading on what he’s done, he doesn’t see any footmarks where I have been. In all I would think my gardening is 75% easier with my Mantis.”

I am writing to say how pleased I am with my Mantis tiller/cultivator. This has to be the most useful and indispensable piece of gardening equipment I own, don’t know how I managed before I bought the Mantis. I would certainly recommend one to my friends…”
